Use of language in the Safety Data Sheet

Article 5

For substances placed on the market on the territory of the Republic of Croatia and for which it is necessary, the Safety Data Sheet must be in conformity with Article 31 of the Regulation (EC) no 1907/2006, in Croatian language and Latin script.

By way of derogation from paragraph 1 of this article, Safety Data Sheet may be made in a foreign language, specifically for: industrial and laboratory use for quantities under 100 kg per year with the following conditions:

  • foreign Safety Data Sheet must be made in accordance with Article 31 of the Regulation (EC) no 1907/2006/EZ,
  • Safety Data Sheet must be accompanies by a safe use instructions in Croatian language and Latin script, which contains all essential information from the Safety Data Sheet. Instructions must enable the persons who use the dangerous substance or formula to get informed on the hazards which the substance or formula represents, measures for prevention of poisoning and other accidents and must describe emergency measures to be undertaken in the event of poisoning or accident.

Article 31 - paragraph 5 of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals (OJ L 396, 30.12.2006) lays down the option to use national language when drafting the Safety Data Sheet
