Scope of application
The Act lays down the technical requirements for the standard of fineness to be met by all articles of precious metals; marking procedure; procedure for testing and hallmarking articles of precious metals being placed on the market or made available on the market.
Main requirements that the business user needs to know about
Precious Metal Articles should comply with the provisions stipulated in the Act.
National action - Mandatory testing and hallmarking shall apply to: gold articles weighing more than 3 g and silver articles weighing more than 3 g.
