Scope of national rule

This Ordinance applies to all equipment and apparatus liable to generate electromagnetic disturbance and/or the performance of which is liable to be affected by such disturbance.

 

Main requirements that the business user needs to know about

(1) General requirements:

a) equipment and apparatus shall be so designed and manufactured as to ensure that the electromagnetic disturbance generated by them does not exceed the level above which radio and telecommunications equipment and other apparatus cannot operate as intended,

b) equipment and apparatus shall have an adequate level of internal immunity to the electromagnetic disturbance which allows them to operate without unacceptable degradation of their intended use.

(2) Specific requirements for fixed installations:

- a fixed installation shall be installed applying good engineering practices and respecting the information on the intended use of its components, with a view to meeting the protection requirements set out in item 1 of this Article.
